About the Pastor

From an early age, Jim Heberle felt God's call to serve as a missionary in Australia. While attending Oklahoma Baptist College in Oklahoma City, Jim met Becky, and they were married in June 1999. After a couple of years on deputation, they left for Australia in August 2004.
In their first three years in Australia, Jim and Becky helped two young churches grow through ministries like letter-boxing,                                                                        soul winning, and discipleship classes. Jim also had the opportunity to pastor                                                                          both of these churches for about eight months while the senior missionaries were                                                                    were on furlough in the United States.

Jim grew up in the small town of Shortsville, New York. Standing at 5'5" (165 cm), he often jokes that it was a great place to be from. His sense of  humor is something that people often might misunderstand, but it’s an integral part of his personality.
Jim's favorite hymn is "Day By Day," which reflects his belief that the Christian life is a step-by-step journey—a marathon, not a sprint. He enjoys cycling, running, playing soccer, and working on auto mechanics in his spare time.
One of Jim's bucket list items is to visit the Holy Land. He has overcome many challenges in his life, including the pastoral and shepherding aspects of ministry. The time he remembers most fondly is when he first met his wife, Becky.
Family and Ministry
Jim is most thankful for his wife, Becky, and their two children, Jimmy and Lydia. He was saved at the age of eight and called into the Gospel Ministry at twelve through the preaching and testimony of a veteran missionary. Since then, he has learned to depend more and more on the strength of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jim continually seeks to improve himself through reading, studying, praying, listening, and asking questions. He deals with negative emotions by finding a Biblical principle and sticking to it. The best advice he ever received was in Bible school: to ask Becky out on a date—advice he considers fantastic.
Current Ministry
Jim and his family are currently serving the Lord in Queensland, where they have been ministering for 13 years. They are excited about the CROSSROADS BAPTIST CHURCH  and the community of Gympie the Good News of Jesus. Jim values commitment and faithfulness to our heavenly Father in the people he spends time with.
One of Jim's dreams is to cycle across the Nullarbor Plain. Through their dedication and faith, Jim and Becky continue to make a significant impact in the remote regions of Australia.

For over two decades, Jim and Becky have been dedicated to Australian Outback Ministries (AOM). Along with their children, James and Lydia, they continue to minister through AOM. Their goal is to evangelize, baptize, and teach those who come to Christ by establishing churches in remote regions, especially in Queensland.
